Every week someone from the Almaden Cycle Touring Club leads at least one long ride in the San Jose area. This one was led by king and queen of San Jose long distance riding: Deb & David. I started at home and met up with Double-D and about 20 other club members at the Almaden Coffee Roasting shop. As we left I decided to stick with the faster group led by David. It was a great workout and fortunately he slowed down a few times to let the rest of us catch up.
Much of the route was along the same roads covered by the annual Tierra Bella Century held by the club in April. A nice ride from San Jose through Morgan Hill to Gilroy and back through the reservoirs. Photos here. This was my 30th 90+ miler of the year: 26 “centuries” and four 200-milers. .
